I’m self taught. I have a pretty unique outlook on life, and I think it's reflected in my work. My shots are lively, like a good band, and convey a sense of intimacy with the musicians and their music. It's a frozen moment of their lives, not a staged sterile slab.

My photographs have been published in countless magazines and newspapers worldwide. I've worked for many labels and bands producing album art and promotional materials.

My clients include Vagrant, Atlantic Records, Under the radar, Crawdaddy, Sub Pop, Beggars Banquet, New West, Matador,  DIW, Velocette, Tiger Style, Spin Art, Artist Direct, Barsuk, The Arena Rock Recording Company, Trans Records, Guitar World,  The Noise Pop Festival, and many bands. I also have served as the photo editor for the now defunct Snackcake! & DIW (also a co-founder of DIW) magazines. I also shoot for Snap Magazine.

I have work on permanent display in many music venues, most notably the Bottom of the Hill nightclub.  I also had an extensive exhibition of my photographs there in 2005.  My work has been used for events at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the De Young Museum, & 111 Minna Gallery.  I recently had a successful solo show at the Nelson Hancock Gallery in New York City.

Chronicle Books published a coffee table book of my work, Every Day Is Saturday, that can be found in better bookshops and on Amazon.

Please contact me to book a shoot or purchase prints.

I shoot in 35mm, the Holga/Woca 120 film formats and full frame 35mm Digital. I also love to shoot with Hipstamatic.
